Historic District Design Guidelines Meeting and Work Session

The Louisiana Main Street Program and the Certified Local Government Program of the LA Division of Historic Preservation have identified the need for the City of Covington to develop design guidelines for the city's historic district. Once developed, these guidelines will be incorporated into the new city-wide comprehensive plan and will assist in the ongoing efforts of historic preservation in downtown Covington by providing applicants and the historic district commission with a clear, concise reference and guide. The $5,000 matching grant award from the Division of Historic Preservation will be applied to the payment of the consultant fees.

The City of Covington has selected the firm of Thomason & Associates of Nashville, TN to help facilitate the planning process for developing the Historic District Design Guidelines.
