Design Charrette for Reverend Peter Atkins Park - June 16
A public design workshop will be held on Saturday, June 16, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Peter Atkins Park (corner of Tyler Street and W. 28th Avenue) in Covington. The City of Covington is pleased to invite the community to participate in this planning process and share ideas for improvements. Using maps and photos, citizens will circle, draw and identify what improvements are needed at Reverend Peter Atkins Park.
The City has received a $15,000 grant from the Fund for St. Tammany Parish at the Greater New Orleans Foundation to help implement the West 30’s Revitalization Plan. Funds from the grant will be used for park improvements. The City has hired local architect Randy Aultman to assist with the project and with public input, and provide a master plan for the park. Grant funds will be utilized to implement components of the plan as part of the West 30’s Revitalization program.
In the event of rain, the workshop will be relocated to Bethel Reform Methodist Church, 602 W. 29th Avenue (same date/time). If you would like additional information, please contact the Covington Planning and Zoning Department at (985) 867-1214.
