Covington Commercial Open House

Mayor Mike Cooper will host the City of Covington’s inaugural Commercial Open House on Friday, March 30, 2012. This self-guided tour will showcase commercial properties for sale or lease in the CBD and outlying areas of the city. Participating properties will be open for viewing, and their respective real estate agents or owners will be present to answer any questions.

Potential Covington business owners are invited to attend the Open House. The event is ideal for those who are planning to start a new business, relocate an existing business or open another branch of an existing business in Covington. Available properties include professional offices, restaurant space, corporate space, retail space and more.

Registration and networking will commence at 9 a.m. at the Covington Trailhead, 419 N. New Hampshire Street. Open House packets including tour maps will be given out during registration. Mayor Mike Cooper will welcome guests at 9:30 a.m., and St. Tammany Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Brenda Reine Bertus will give a brief overview of the business climate in St. Tammany Parish. Alison Saunders, Tax Incentives Director of the Louisiana Division of Historic Preservation, will also give a short presentation. The tour of Downtown properties will take place from 10 a.m. to noon. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy lunch on their own at one of Covington’s many fine restaurants, and then continue on the self-guided tour of properties located outside of Covington’s CBD from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

“I encourage potential business owners to come out and see what Covington has to offer,” says Mayor Mike Cooper. “This is an eventful weekend for our city.”
