Chief Tim Lentz is proud to report that Officers Kevin Collins and William Craig graduated from the Slidell Regional Police Academy this evening, successfully completing all of the requirements to become a police officer in the State of Louisiana.
Officer Collins received an award for achieving the highest score on the P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standards & Training) final exam. Officer Collins received second place for the “Fast Track” award in tactical police driving, through the National Academy for Professional Driving.
The officers began their in-field training prior to attending the academy and will soon be “solo” police officers, cleared to work the streets on their own, protecting the citizens of Covington.

Chief Lentz states, “I am proud to be able to announce the graduation of these two young men. Filling the vacancies within our department with caring and professional police officers has been a priority since day one. I’m happy to say that these two officers fit that mold.”
