    Chief Tim Lentz reports that the Covington Police Department is seeking help from the public in locating a person of interest in a theft from a local business. On Sunday, January 19, 2014, an unknown male subject called the Claiborne Hill Shell Station, 1001 US Hwy 190 Business, posing as the general manager. He told the employee on duty that someone would be coming to pick up money for another store and drop off a key.


    Just before 7:00 p.m., an unidentified white female with long brown hair, who appeared to be in her twenties, entered the store. She gave the employee a key and took an undisclosed amount of cash. Surveillance video was obtained and photographs of the female suspect are attached.


    The Covington Police Department is actively working the investigation and asks that anyone who may be able to identify either suspect contact the Covington Police Department Investigations Division at (985)867-1200 or Crimestoppers at (504)822-1111.
