COVINGTON RECREATION REVITALIZED & ENERGIZED
A BRIEF OVERVIEW - AUGUST 15, 2016

Addressing the essential need for Covington Recreation Department (CRD) reform, this brief overview is that of an innovative recreation department after a fresh restructuring and reorganization – a visualization which emits the synergy needed to raise the bar in Covington recreation. Elevating and enhancing youth sports will be a primary focus and goal of the department.  Establishing strong partnerships and relationships with coaches who will become mentors to our youth and instrumental in their development into young men and women who will be the future of Covington, is vital to the success of our department.  With passion, desire, and vision, our Department of Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Affairs (DPRC) staff will strive to clearly see and understand not only what needs to be done for our children and our grandchildren, but will utilize our resources creatively to carry forth our vision and mission all the way across the goal(s) of execution, implementation, performance, and accomplishment.

A COMMITMENT TO EXCEL

In addition to improved athletic programming, the regeneration of the Covington Recreation Department (CRD) to the Department of Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Affairs (DPRC) will expand the City’s branding efforts, supporting Covington’s reputation as a destination for entertainment, leisure, and recreation.  The department’s energies will enhance the City’s capacity to positively impact quality of life, promote economic development, strengthen youth development, and improve public health through exceptional spaces and cultural experiences.  This city department will not only fulfill the traditional role of CRD sports activities, but exceed and surpass expectations of a recreation department by utilizing creative and imaginative, outside the box thinking to implement programming.  The overall reform of the relative past and current Recreation Department is a strategic investment for the City of Covington and an earnest commitment to provide sustainable programs and environments for generations to come.

I hope all of you will partner with us, take part in DPRC and invest in our youth, our future, our Covington!
