Think you can remember what your 8th-grade nun was trying to teach you?

In this comedy game show, contestants are quizzed on subjects like history, geography, arithmetic, science, civics, and a few more! Answer too many questions wrong, and you’ll end up in Purgatory, where you have to answer a religious question to get out. Along the way, they’ll still experience a lot about their Catholic or religious upbringing and get a little catechism lesson.

Who: Samuel Warren

Portraying Ray, master pianist/vocalist, Samuel Warren leads his three sultry vocalists (a la the Raelettees), performing this American legend's most popular hits in a Ray Charles Tribute show at the Fuhrmann Auditorium as part of Covington's OnSTAGE Series. In an article from NOLA.com by Sarah Bonnett, Samuel talks about the show, "The first half of the show is like you're at Ray Charles' band rehearsal. I got a chance to do some songs; he didn't need background music. The second half will be the concert. What the Spirit has allowed me to do, in trying to do Ray Charles, the way I have lined up the songs, it's almost like I'm telling a story," Warren added. "My prayer has always been that I represent Ray Charles the best way I can."

Inspired by cabaret-style concerts at legendary New York City venues like The Duplex, 54 Below, and Hotel Carlyle’s Carlyle Room, Lights Up!

Features 10 standout performers.

This style of show bridges the gap between a concert and a full-scale musical, incorporating acting, singing, and choreography while also breaking down the fourth wall between the stage and the audience. Offering a more personal and conversational setting gives patrons a chance to get to know performers beyond the characters they’ve played over the years on our local stages while still giving them the “razzle dazzle” they’ve come to expect from nights at the Saenger or on the Great White Way.

Accompanying the performers will be a live, four-piece band, taking full advantage of the Fuhrmann’s unique sound capabilities as well as featuring dynamic stage lighting for each number. In addition to songs and the stories that inspired them. You will not want to miss this show!!!
