Police Reports

The Covington Police Department Records Unit is responsible for storing and maintaining all reports taken by the agency. Please allow at least ten business days for your report to become available once it is taken by an officer.

Agency reports are released in accordance with Louisiana public records law (LA Rev Stat § 44). For additional information related to the release of crash reports, please refer to LA Rev Stat § 32:389. Some reports or portions of reports may not be public records under Louisiana public records law and may not be available for release in part or whole.

Reports are available to purchase starting at $1.00 per page. Additional production such as photographs are an additional cost.

The Records Unit is available to assist you during normal business hours at 985 892-8500 ext. 2.

Crash Reports Available Online

You must have your report number, the last name of an involved party, the date of the crash, or the location of the crash to find the report.

**Online crash report fees are assessed by the vendor.

Police Reports Available Online

Report copies start at at $1.00 per page. You will be contacted after submitting the online request form to arrange payment.

Reports Available In-Person

Reports are available for request and pickup in-person at the below location. Report copies start at at $1.00 per page. Please bring cash, check, or money order. Debit or credit cards are not accepted.
