Three Arrested In Connection With Fentanyl Distribution, Cruelty to Juveniles

On December 5, 2023, the Covington Police Department Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant at an apartment in the 2000 block of Pine Crest Avenue in Covington. This warrant was a result of a welfare check conducted by CPD Narcotics and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services after receiving information concerning an individual observed dealing narcotics with several small children inside the residence. CPD Narcotics seized the following during their investigation:
  • 202 grams of fentanyl
  • 115 grams of marijuana
  • 7.62 caliber semi-automatic pistol
CPD Narcotics arrested Jeremy Rodgers (dob 07/06/2000), Bryce Harrison (dob 11/14/2000), and Johnquaries Laurant (dob 05/31/1999) for various charges as a result of their investigation, including the following:
  • Possession With Intent to Distribute (PWITD) Fentanyl
  • PWITD Marijuana
  • Possession Drug Paraphernalia
  • Possession of a Firearm with Controlled Dangerous Substance
  • Cruelty to Juveniles
Over the past week, your proactive CPD Officers removed three illegally possessed firearms, made arrests on various narcotics charges along with 15 open warrants, and recovered a stolen license plate.
