For those interested in the arts, the St. Tammany Art Association teaches a variety of art classes. Delgado Community College also offers classes in Covington. Master a language, play a cello or learn more about starting a business in your community.

There is no shortage of entertainment here. Playmakers, one of America’s oldest community theaters, presents several theatrical productions each year. The City of Covington hosts numerous events and festivals throughout the year, including free concerts at the Covington Trailhead and Columbia Street Landing. Downtown Art Walks are celebrated every spring and fall with gallery openings and music in the streets. And the juried Three Rivers Art Festival, featuring more than 150 artists from all over the country, draws more than 50,000 visitors to Covington each fall.

Another perk of Covington living is the close proximity to the bustling Big Easy. Just across Lake Pontchartrain, 45 miles south, additional entertainment choices await. New Orleans offers NFL football, NBA and NCAA basketball, the Audubon Zoo, numerous museums, architectural and historic sites, musical venues, Jazz Fest, riverboat rides and world-class cuisine.
