Public Works

The City of Covington Public Works Department is responsible for maintenance and improvements for the city's entire infrastructure. This includes sewer plant operations, sewage collection system, water wells, lift stations, traffic signs, drainage and city streets.

Public Works is committed to providing efficient and cost-effective services involving the maintenance and operation of public facilities and equipment.

RENTAL OF BARRICADES

Civic non-profits and schools with barricade requests (other than requests for Special Public Events*) must complete a Barricade Rental Application for City review/approval.  Only after reservation approval is received will all applicants be responsible for picking up and returning barricades to the City of Covington, Department of Public Works Barn, 1300 W. 27th Avenue.

To apply for reservation approval, submit a completed application form for City Authorization and present it to a Customer Service Representative at City Hall, 317 N. Jefferson Avenue; also, have all fees, including the required deposit, available to finalize the reservation.  Rental of barricade fees are $1.50/each per day with a required refundable deposit of $10.00 per barricade, to a maximum of $100.00.

If the barricade request is included with a Special Event Permit Application, the applicant will follow the requirements provided by the Cultural Arts & Events (CAE) staff.
